The sign of the Leo is a fire sign and brilliant sun. This deciduous tree is native to the western ghats and found in Deccan and the northern circars.

Uses of Paathiri Tree

All parts of the tree are beneficial in different ways. The tree parts have various medicinal properties. It is a diuretic, anti-inflammatory and it acts as a blood purifier. It is well-known medicine for cardiac diseases, blood disorders, etc. The root is coolant, anti-asthmatic, anti-inflammatory, and used for piles, nervous disorders, dyspepsia, diarrhoea, strangury, renal and vesical calculi, cough, asthma, hiccough, haemorrhoids, hyperacidity, vomiting, dropsy, fever, and general debility. The leaves are helpful in otalgia, odontalgia, rheumatic fever, malaria, and wounds. The flowers are helpful against burning sensation, cardiomyopathy, hiccough, and general debility. The fruits are useful in Vata and Pitta. The seeds are externally applied for hemicrania.
