SEETHATHEERTHAM, PONMUDI HILLS

Trekking to the stream of Seethatheertham is a 4 km trekking programme in the Ponmudi hills. You can visit the ruins of the temple dedicated to goddess Sita on top of the hill. This temple stands strong on a vast expanse of rocky hills, surrounded by nothing but silence and strong winds. You can also view the footprints of Goddess Sita, as the local tribes believe it. They say that the goddess once satiated her thirst in this river. The climate of the place is delightful, and most of the year, this place is covered with thick mist. On the top of the mountain hill, the Thenmala dam can also be viewed. This place is a perfect dream destination for wildlife photographers and bird watchers.
