INTRODUCTION
When we hear the word ‘forest’, there will be an imaginative picture that comes to our mind, and the image will include numerous trees growing dense with different types of flora and fauna in it. People are always interested in visiting the forest and admiring its beauty and greenery. But when it comes to reality, apart from enjoying nature, most humans make minimal efforts to conserve them. Deforestation and exploitation of natural resources for personal gain is also on the rise. And these practices are paving the way for climate change, global warming and other natural calamities.
Our continuous negative actions are hurting Mother Earth. And the aftereffects are creating a more significant impact on human lives. Even fresh air, clean water, and favourable climatic conditions are becoming scarce in heavily populated areas. Airborne diseases are on the rise with the increase in urbanisation.
Ever thought about the reason?
The answer is pretty straightforward — the destruction of natural resources.
What efforts can we take to help the planet restore itself? There are so many simple steps that we can take to contribute to the restoration process. We can plant a tree on our house premises, help in planting activities in cities, tending street trees, develop green roofing techniques, keep indoor plants, and promote sustainable living.
Apart from these simple steps, we also need to plan more extensive projects to tackle the greater pollution and degradation issues and save the planet as a whole. We Grow Forest Foundation has come up with some activities that every nature lover can involve in conservation activities by taking into account. One of the major activities includes creating mini forests in urban areas. These forests are tailor-made according to the available terrain. The tailor-made woods include Food Forests, Community Forests, and the primary forest design is our custom made APJ Forests. We also aim to develop Green Charging Zones, Outdoor Eco-friendly developments, and also Green Offices. Our Outdoor Eco-friendly developments include Eco-Friendly Parks, Tree Parks, Zodiac Tree Parks, National Green Highways, and Butterfly Gardens. Through this initiative, we encourage society to conserve our native trees and raise awareness about nature’s importance. We are promoting sustainable forest conservation in the community. Through our mini-forests concept, everyone can feel the beauty and powerful energy of the forest. And this will be a good platform for children and adults to learn and observe urban wildlife.
