ENVIRONMENTAL NONGOVERNMENTAL ORGANISATIONS OF INDIA

Environmental Non-Governmental Organisations of India (ENGOI) is a national network of autonomous organisations and nongovernmental organisations (NGOs) focused on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, emphasising conservation and environmental projects.
Their Mission is to evolve as the nation’s environmental advocacy group and the largest civic observance body towards building a peaceful and sustainable world.

And to bring all NGOs, institutions, private organisations, individuals, and self-help groups under the umbrella of ENGOI. This apex body represents India’s environmental concerns as a single voice. ENGOI is highly decentralised and consists of several autonomous organisations that collaborate on a shared study of the core causes of the twenty-first century’s most critical environmental issues.
They envisions to synergise sustainable approaches towards a green economy.

Objectives of ENGOI

  • To emerge as a nonprofit environmental governance body by networking heterogeneous NGOs across the country to save the planet for the next generations through afforestation, sustainable practices and awareness programs.
  • To develop well-managed forests and protect the existing ones, ensuring long term forest productivity and conservation.
  • To join hands with stakeholders to reduce the greenhouse effect and fluctuating climate change by establishing Urban Forests and practising Green Good Deeds.
  • To grant relief, assistance or donations to the needy victims and establish Green Care Homes by conducting local and national programs.
  • To act as a secular body for influencing Government policies and private practices.
  • To ensure that future generations will have forests, clean air, clean water and wildlife habitat.
  • To create relationships with the government and other organisations.
  • To offer training and assistance in agroforestry, conservation, nature rebuilding, sustainability, economic growth, and maximise the use of local resources.
  • • To establish environmental solutions and manage projects implemented to address issues affecting a particular area.
  • Study and understand the social, economic, and environmental effects that Non-Profit Organisations in the environmental sector can have on a region and provide solutions
  • To act outside the formal processes that state governments and other government institutions must comply with.
  • To build institutional capacity for better operations.
  • Work with stakeholders to protect forests, air, water, land, biodiversity, habitat, industry, energy, waste, climate and food.

Being united makes us strong. ENGOI will bring together India’s Environmental NGOs under one umbrella to make the change. They’ll help provide NGOs with the mechanism and support needed to connect, partner, share, inspire and multiply their contributions. Also they provide a platform for people to learn sustainable practices, protect and nurture nature, improve biodiversity, expand green cover, and express views on environmental policies.

ENGOI helps provide NGOs with the mechanism and support needed to connect, partner, share, inspire and multiply their contributions. They created this Save Green, Save Future platform to connect like-minded organisations and people to change the environment positively. Join hands with this apex organisation to form a better green future.
